Three Powers: An Art Exhibition Exploring Beliefs and Identity

Hello there! I’m excited to share with you some news about an upcoming exhibition I’ll be participating in. Mahara+CO, in partnership with ArtSpace 305, will be presenting “Three Powers,” a group exhibition that will feature the works of three Latino artists living in the USA. I am honored to be one of the featured artists, and I can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you.

The show will be running from April 13 to May 11, 2023, and it will delve into the meanings of beliefs and personal involvement. My fellow artists – Milixa Morón, Antonio Castillo, and I – aim to break down significant aspects of identity, whether individual or collective. Through our works, we aim to evoke sacred geometry and the power of rituals as creative incentives.

For my part, I draw inspiration from the Mayan myth of twin brothers. I explore the conflict between gender and gender identity through my artwork. Meanwhile, Milixa Morón’s paintings focus on femininity, myths, and nature, incorporating elements of her daily life as a mother, wife, and artist. Lastly, Antonio Castillo’s work is significant for San Juan Bautista’s pyromantic celebrations and the winter solstice’s advent in the southern hemisphere.

Together, our works offer a powerful and inspiring insight into the spiritual world. We hope to showcase the beauty and complexity of these beliefs and rituals through our art.

The “Three Powers” exhibition will open on April 13, 2023, from 6-9 p.m. at ArtSpace305. I’d love for you to attend the opening reception with me, so please RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tres-poderes-tickets-598611532207.
