Pompano Beach, FL. From January 16 – 23, at the Historic Cottages by the Ocean, Marco Caridad will begin and finish an onsite artwork inspired by the serenity of this historic boutique. This ARTCATION is one of the Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week events.
This Artist In Residency Program was created with the ultimate goal of establishing Broward County as an international cultural destination. Marco Caridad mentioned that “I’m impressed with my fellow artists who have finished some paintings already; for me creating art is an intellectual and spiritual process. In the first two days, I finished my color palette and made some sketches. Now, I’m ready to start painting.”
Marco is documenting his work-in-progress daily via photos and videos on his Instagram and his Facebook. The final pieces will be revealed during a socially distant reception taking place at the participating property. “Our cottage complex is a Certified Wildlife Habitat for native and migrating birds and butterflies, so there should be some good material here to inspire our artist,” said proprietor Elaine Fitzgerald.
