“Memory Of A Love” At The New MIFA’s Multimedia Room.

From January 8 to 29, 2022. Miami International Fine Art opens the doors to an intimate immersive experience with a video art installation collaborating with visual artist Marco Caridad, author Edith Monge Silva, and musician Alex Uribe. With this video art installation, MIFA invites the Miami public; take a slight pause, “a brief parenthesis to listen again to the sounds that silence brings us; imagining a sky without traces of the past or the future, without the impurities of time, returning to the innocence of the beginning,” mentioned Monge Silva.

Edith Monge Silva’s poem “Desnudez Sin Prisa” is the guiding thread of Marco Caridad’s animations, projected over three circular works from the artist’s new series. Attendees can choose between sitting on a cloud or experiencing the installation standing up; each one decides how to experience heaven. For Alex Uribe, it is imperative to convey feelings with music “this is the type of work that I enjoy doing; after reading Edith’s poem, I was inspired and decided to incorporate Latin sounds to juxtapose them with melancholy.”

“This is an open synergy space for the creation and experimentation of multimedia arts, which opens the door to other international and national artists and collectives to present their exhibition project at MIFA,” mentioned Caridad. Marco is a visual artist and the vice president of the non-profit organization The One Club for Creativity Miami. MIFA and One Club are raising funds to grant scholarships to people interested in studying art and sponsor the programming of the Multimedia Room in 2022.

The entrance to experience the installation is free and will be active until Saturday, January 29, 2022, Monday through Friday, from 09:30, am to 04:30 pm and on Saturdays, from 09:30 am to 04:00 pm. Complimentary parking.

ABOUT MIFA

MIFA opened its doors in September 2019 as a collaboration between Teresa Jessurum Uribe, Elkin Canas, Milixa Morón, and Carlos Martínez León with the support of Gilberto Uribe, president of CTP Costex, intending to contribute to the development of culture through the launch of a space that promotes Latin American art in South Florida. This art space’s opening represents a starting point for the penetration of art trends in the Miami market, fostering an understanding of influential Latin American art of our time through excellence, awareness, exploration, and stimulation of thought criticism and dialogue in our community.
