Digital and Mystical: Art and Identity in the Metaverse

Hello, everyone!

I’m thrilled that my work will be featured in the Digital and Mystical: Art and Identity in the Metaverse exhibition, part of the Loop Art Critique program. The exhibition, which runs from March 3rd to April 3rd, 2023, showcases the works of several artists, including Marco Caridad, cha, Laurie Luna, A. Morgan McKendry, Tripura, and Peng Zhou. You can experience the exhibition online at the Onland Gallery at https://loop.onland.io/.

The exhibition explores various themes that reflect on the potential of digital technologies to create new forms of meaning and experience. As an artist, I’m particularly interested in how digital technologies transform our understanding of the natural world, and this is a prominent feature of my work on display. My piece reflects on how technology shapes our perception of reality and blurs the boundaries between organic and artificial. The use of digital technologies in creating art is also a significant aspect of my work, highlighting the potential of technology to enhance and transform the creative process.

The Loop Art Critique program was created by Ariel Baron-Robbins in 2022 as part of her work in the MUD Foundation, designed to highlight the importance of critical feedback for digital artists. The program is a contemporary take on traditional art critique salons, and after four weeks of critique, the program morphs into a joint curatorial exercise. The artists are tasked with curating themselves into a group show at “The Salon” and are given a free space to experiment within.

I’m excited to be a part of this program and to have been selected based solely on my artwork. At no time was my gender, race, religion, regional background, current city, education, or CV of shows considered. This program focuses solely on the artwork and encourages experimentation and creativity. I am grateful for the opportunity to showcase my work as part of the Digital and Mystical exhibition.

I invite you all to come and experience the works on display. The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to explore the potential of digital technologies to create new forms of meaning and experience, and I look forward to seeing you at the Metaverse.
