BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP: The Popol Vuh’s Hero Twins

On August 25, 2022, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm ICM of the Mexican Consulate, I was honored to be the professor for the Block Printing Workshop as the closing activity of the MOG II exhibition.

We received around fifty students brought by Dr. Gisela Vega, Director of the Center for LGBTQ Studies at the University of Miami, who was with us that day. The students learn about the ancient block printing technique using my latest research about Popol Vuh’s Hero Twins as a Motif.

The event started with the consul’s words, and then the students practiced by printing flags and their T-shirts (sponsored by the non for profit, The Once Club for Creativity Miami). The event was coordinated by the director of the Cultural Institute, Adriana Torres.
